Auliya-e-Allah (The Saints) (The Friends of God)
Auliyas are living example of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) miracles, this is the godliness of Islam as a religion. They (mystics) are the pillars of Islam and are the true heirs of the Prophets, to have scholars in any religion does not mean it has godliness but to have an Auliya to vouch for God is for sure a proof of godliness because a scholar explains a query while an Auliya shows what a common man is unable to think about. We can get light through sun and moon for physical needs but a spiritual light can only be gained in the company of an Auliya. They have hidden in their heart of hearts the messages of God that only a devoted man can rejoice, even a sinner can come back to a righteous path. If a mystic of Hazrat Suleman can bring the Flying Sedan (Takht-e-Balqees) in a wink of an eye, then the grandeur of Hazrat Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) wali can be seen when a dejected person can be alive again and rejoice just by looking at them, thieves can be turned in to Qutabs (Highest cadre in the spiritual world) who can change a little molecule of sand in to sun and confine an ocean in a bowl, just by reciting God’s name can make of rogue fearful. Allama Iqbal Says:
“Doo Neem unki Thokar se Sehra-o-Darya Simmit kar Pahar unki Haibat se Rai”
Deserts and rivers give them way when they put on one step on them, a mountain becomes a grain of sand by their anger. The whole world is not a desert and without water because among them is one dry sand dune, amongst them there are pieces of lands where fountains can erupts and waste land because lush green. In the same Auliyas are beneficence of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and directly benefited from Him (PBUH). They are distributing the bounties they got from Allah through Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). As Allama Iqbal says:
“Na tha agar tu Skariek-e-Mehfil Qasur Mera Hay ya Tera Mera tareeqa nahein ke Rakh loon kisi ki khater Maey-e-Shabana
This is the sacred group about whom it is said:
“Al fiqr Fakhri wa Al fiqr Mani”
Meaning “Being a humble person in my pride and being a pious is part of me”
A mendicant is not the one who asks for alms but the one whose heart is free of worldly wishes and pure. He is never impressed by the offers of wealth and riches nor poverty makes him sad and leaves the righteous path. Nothing stops him from praying; whether he is traveling or resting nor when happy or sad. A mendicant never wishes for worldly thing. He never saves or hoards up; spends whatever is given to him. He is always restless expect for when he is praying. The sole purpose of his life is to spend it by praying.
“Nigha-e-Fiqr mein Shan-e-Sikandari kiya hai”
For these people God told Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in Surah Al-Annam. We should not forget these people who are always praying and worshiping God and have resigned to the will of God. These are people who have devoted themselves to the love of God and are always praying. These are the people who overcome (fight) all the hurdles of life, dangers, do not care for their life, do not forget God when thrown on the blazing hot sands and slabs, leave their homeland and nurture ideas with hard labour. They are not sad when they are asked to sacrifice their sons nor even when die of thirst in the desert; instead they smile and welcome death, do not care if their throat is cut down even torturing does not make them worried.
This matter is worth consideration that why these wise people do not like the comforts of life. The only reason is that they do not want to forget God, so do not like to lose themselves in the worldly things. They are aware of the fact that any hardship is going to take them more near to God and Heaven. Any prayer that is done from the depth of heart will make them dear to God. There are people who live only for themselves, and, think only worldly things matter and that is the end of the world. These are the people who do not pray, do not believe in rewards and punishments, are embodiment of pride and prejudice. If world is the end then why did Hazrat Ayub (A.S) suffered from many afflict and never forgot praying. But there are two worlds that are; a world here and hereafter. As the Persian poet Saadi said:
“Uz Makafat-ie-Amal Khafil Mashu Gandam uz Gandam Barwaid Joz-ie-Jau”
Meaning “This world is a kind of fields which you sow here will earn in the life after death.”
A wise man will not trade in temporary luxuries with the luxurious life of hereafter. He will fight difficulties bravely and will reach his destination. He will struggle hard to obtain the true knowledge of God. He knows he has to go deep in the sea waters to obtain precious stones. So in the same manner to learn about the spiritual world he has to use all his energies. As Allama Iqbal said:
“Salha Dar-e-Kaaba wa but khana me nalid hiyat Naz Bazm-ie-Ishq yak Dana-ie-Raz Ayad Baroon”
When they acquire the knowledge of God, they find the strength that would make the two worlds shift their places and people would pay them respects, they can take away the hotness of fire and fluxes from the water, their shepherdly stick would turn in to a snake, dead would became alive, could confine a river in to a goblet, by pointing a finger a spring would start flowing, sun would turn back defeat people of Khyber, mountain would give them way and save a boat from drowning, become a harbour for end un-bounder (invisible) river. This is what Allama Iqbal said:
“Sang Az Yuk Zarbat Ou Tar Shood Behr az Mehr-u-Maei nam Burshood Panja-e-Haider ke Khyber Geer Bood Quwat Au az Hamein Shamsheer Bood”
If a beggar comes to them for alms, becomes wealthy, makes a common man a sultan, makes people see right path, just by taking their names in the source of expiation.
“Zikr-ul-Anbiah Ibada tun Wa Zikr-ul-Auliya Kafara tun” (Hadith)
Their company makes you a gem of a person
Because of this:
“Wa Ama-ul Saeil Fala Tanhar” No ones wishes are turned down
Hazrat Sabir Sarkar (Rehmatullah Aliah) said:
“Azan Rozay Kay Amad az Khuda Hukm Fala Tanhar Na Rafta Az Daram Mehroom Hargiz Dast-e-Sail-la-ha”
With the death all the worldly relations end but a relation with this sacred group starts at that time and goes on till your Judgment. If any one is connected to them (mystic) they will be your friend till the Day of Judgment. One day Hazrat Ghous Pak wearing an expensive clothes and going through a jungle. One dacoit caught the corner of his robe, he did not know his intention. He prayed Oh! God he (dacoit) wants to be with Abdul Qadir, so let him be my friend till the Judgment Day. The dacoit felt ashamed and became Muslim and never left Hazoor Ghous Pak.
“Koi Andaza Kar Sakta Hai in kayt Zor-e-Bazoo Ka Nigah-e-Mard-e-Momin say Badal Jatein Hein Taqdeerein”
God chose Hazrat Abu Talib’s kins and generation because of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Especially the crown of walait Hazrat Ali Murtaza Karam Ullah Wajho and Syeda-tun-Nisa Khatoon-e-Janat were rewarded with walait and were chosen for the prosperity of the religion. Hazrat Ali prayed with every breath he took and the sole purpose of his life was to make God and Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) made happy; whether in battle fields or in rest.
In the same way Hazrat Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) grand sons Hazrat Hassan Mujtaba and Hussain Karim sacrificed their loyal servants, devoted relatives, nephews, brothers, children and at last their own lives to prove their partiality towards the religion of God and Hazrat Muhammad and defeated the believers of Pharaohs and Yazid (the second Omayyad caliph during whose regime tragedy of Karbala took place).
It does not stop here, God chose Hazrat Ali’s (Karam Ullah Wajho ) Family members and spiritual friends as the messenger for the prosperity of Islam in the whole world and made it eternal. To preach and favour the righteous path to God not ending chain of Saints was born of Hazrat Ali’s spiritual and genealogical family, who has and will bring people on the right way to God and to give up sinful lives.
The true knowledge of God was entrusted to Hazrat Khawaja Hassan Basri through the pledge at the hands of Hazrat Ali and made him his caliph, so that Silsila-e-Tareeqat (mysticism) should remain intact.
History speaks for itself that all the saints traveled to the far fetched places of the world to preach after struggling very hard and to save people from the blasphemy and polytheism because they had love of God and love of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in their hearts. Hazrat Makhdum Alla-ud-Din Ali Ahmed Sabir Kalyari is one of the most respected personality in the holy pages of history.
