Construction of the Corridors
For a long time only the tomb stood there that was centre of spiritual beneficences for the devotees and loveable place to visit. The present beautiful corridors were built in at the beginning of the 20th Century AD. The story goes like this that the Raja of Bhopal and his wife came to Darbar-e-Sabri to pray for a sibling because they had no children, God condescended their prayers and bestowed them with a beautiful child. The boy turned five. The mother brought the child along with a driver and a faithful maid who starting bathing in River Ganga, the child fell in the river, tried catching him in vain, shouted for help after dressing. In the meantime strong waves carried away the child. People took the boats to catch up with him. The mother of Child came to Darbar-e-Sabir started crying bitterly and prayed humbly; “Oh Sabir did you only give me the son for mere five years, pious people do not take away what they gifted, you gave me my son and now you are taking away in Kalyar too, I will not go back empty handed. Your glorious ancestor brought out the wedding procession out of the river after 12 years at the wailing of an old woman. I want my child back otherwise I would rather die here at your doorsteps, her cries for assistance were granted. The son was caught up at the water head made at Roorkee who had drowned in the river six miles from Kalyar. The rescuers were amazed to see the boy alive not only that but there was no water in his stomach. The boy was brought in at the shrine of Hazrat Makhdum Alla-ud-Din Ali Ahmed Sabir Pak Kalyari. The mother left with great gratitude and thanks, gave charity to the poor and went back happily. She came back along with her husband and stayed at the shrine for building up the beautiful and fascinating corridors of Hazrat Makhdum Alla-ud-Din Ali Ahmed Sabir Pak’s mausoleum that is still so beautiful to look at.
