A Special Gift from the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him)
At the time of Tahajud on 24 Ramadan 656 Hijri, Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar presented Hazrat Sabir Pak in the court of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) kissed Makhdum Sabir Pak on his right shoulder and with great love and tenderness said ”He is the saint” (Haza Wali Ullah), the four companions and other celestial figures said the same and chanted, He is the saint. So in the same manner all other prominent spiritual figures sloganed it whole day long and paid their respects to Makhdum Pak. The mystic poet Dr. Allama Iqbal says:
“Sirapa Husn Ban Jaata hay Jis kay Husn ka Ashiq
Bhala Aay Dil Hasseen Aisa bhi Hay koi Haseenon Mein”
Translation: “Embodiment of complete beauty falls for a beauty, is there a beauty amongst beautifuls”
Same day Baba Fareed-ul-Haq Ganj Shakar invited the most dignified Sufis (Saints) and inquired that he does not remember the event of the prostration. I prostrated once or twice, at that time Hazrat Makhdum Alla-ud-Din Ali Ahmed Sabir was holding Hazrat Baba Ji’s shoes with utmost respect, at the back of this gathering was standing Khawaja Nizam-ud-Din Bad Ayuni.
When all the guests did not answer, so, then Hazrat Ali Ahmed Sabir asked the honourable Khawaja Nizam-ud-Din what is Baba Ji asking; he told Hazrat Sabir. Sabir Pak stepped forward and asked permission and humbly related the incident, when all the angels and holy spirits were lined up I was standing on your right due to my spiritual powers I joined the prophets and stood beside Hazrat Ismail (Aliah Salam) at the time of prostration to do so. Gabriel the Angel picked me up with his wings and placed me back at my position. Second time when prostration was ordered again using the powers I joined Hazrat Yousaf (Aliah Salam) to prostrate in front of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), Gabriel pick me up and placed back this happened the third time too. Baba Fareed-ud-Din Ganj Shakar demanded a proof from Ali Ahmed Sabir, he replied I have marks of Gabriel’s wings on my shoulder. Hazrat Baba Fareed-ud-Din Ganj Shakar lifted the cloak from Sabir Pak’s shoulder (the shoulder is an appointed place where spiritual marks of waliat (sainthood) are placed) placed a kiss over the signet of saintliness and declared him the saint, all the attendants of the party came forward one by one and kissed the signet of saintliness. Whole night long and the next day too all the spiritual leaders visited and had the privilege of looking at the stamp of saintliness and kissing it and declared “He is the saint” all the contemporary saints have narrated this incident, because this emblem of saintliness was the solution to the path towards the eternal path to righteousness and raised their ranks in the world and after.
