Journey to Delhi and Baba Sheikh Jamal
Hazrat Fareed-ud-Din Ganj Shakar after the pledge sent Hazrat Ali Ahmed Sabir to preach in Delhi along with the letter of caliphate and told him to get it stamped from Sheikh Jamal Hansvi who was posted at Hansi, was one of his caliph, so he took the letter and left. He reached Hansi in the evening. For unknown reasons Baba Sheikh Jamal hesitated in stamping the letter, reasoning that it is dark. At this Hazrat Ali Ahmed Sabir blew at his index finger and it lit up. As the mystic poet Allama Iqbal says:
“Jala Sakti hai Shama-e-Kushta ko Mauj-e-Nafs un ki
Illahi kia chupa hota hai Ahlay dil ke seenon mein”
Translation:
“A lamp can lit up just at their wish
Oh! God what is really hidden in the hearts of them”
At this Baba Sheikh Jamal became angry and tore the letter of caliphate. Hazrat Sabir returned to Pak Pattan saying you have torn the letter of my caliphate written by my mentor, I am ending your saintly line.
Hazrat Baba Fareed (Rehmatullah Aliah) wrote another letter of caliphate and sent him to Kalyar only with Aleemullah Abdal (Rehmatullah Aliah).
