The History of Kalyar Sharif

Hazrat Khawaja Ghareeb Nawaz Hassan Sanjri Ajmeri has written a complete and detailed condition of the city of Kalyar in his books. Raja Karam Pal established this city in according to Bakrami 340 same as 283 AD. Bakram Pal developed it in 355 Bakrami according to 298 AD and constructed a huge and vast temple. It had idols made of gold and silver. Googal Chand was the head monk, was replaced by Chooha Sain after murdering Googal. According to 901 AD and 958 Bakrami Raja Silkan son of Gopal conquered it and named his nephew Kanwar Chandar Pal the head monk and renamed the city as Akharka Dewat Hardawar. Raja Karpal appointed his cousin Kalyan Pal as the monk, settled the idol worshipers in the city. He named the city Kalyar in accordance with his name. This city is only 14 acre in area.
